Michael spent most of the afternoon in front of the 600 degree pizza oven.
We love our "Giuseppe"

Happy Birthday to You!!!!

We had a blast celebrating my Daddy's 80th birthday.
Two days of non-stop fun. We started the celebration on Saturday with a nice dinner at Gladstone's in Long Beach. Sunday, we gathered at our house to take family portraits and continues the fun with a good old fashion pool party. The only twist was that we challenged everyone to a pizza throw down. I must admit, we have some pretty talented chefs.
The title of Pizza Champions was awarded to Thelma and Rob for their
B-B-Q Chicken Pizza and their Marinated Steak Pizza. YUMMY!!!
We were blessed to have almost the entire family together. I made sure to spend time with every single person. We are all so far apart , the time I get with everyone is so precious to me. I was so sad to see everyone go, but I know that we will be together again soon. I LOVE you all!

Little Lady Lauren

July 10, 2009

"Lauren, what would you like to do for your birthday this year?"
"I want to stay at a hotel for the weekend."

Most 8 year old girls ask for a new bike or maybe a party with their friends. Not Lauren, she would like a weekend getaway, thank you. And what Lauren wants, Lauren gets!
Thanks to her super Daddy, of course.

This post is only suppose to be about Lauren, but we had to give a shout out to
Daddy who did a great job organizing our fun filled weekend!
He is the biggest kid of them all! You should've seen the splash he made!

Silly girl opening her gifts.
She asked for new pajamas this year.
There is nothing more comfy then pj's from This Little Piggy.

Emma gave Lauren a decorated toothpaste box for her birthday???

Happy Birthday Little Lady!

More About Lauren...

1st Communion
June 28, 2009

Together with family and friends we celebrated Lauren's most recent milestone in the church. Watching her receive her 1st communion was such an emotional moment. I wanted to cry but I was so overwhelmed with excitement for her. She was absolutely beaming!
Hair Stylings by MOM.

Lauren wore the same dress as Brianna, but she had her own veil.
I hope to have all the girls in our family (present and future) receive their
1st Communion wearing this dress.

My mom made my 1st Communion cake. I cheated.
Hey, it's not easy getting 5 kids ready for 9am mass.

Congratulations Lauren!

Happy Birthday - The Big ONE-ONE

Still half asleep on the morning of your birthday.

We had a great day celebrating your birthday. Although we were unable to plan a big fiesta (thanks to baseball), I think your day was pretty special!

Every birthday celebration starts with a breakfast date with Dad.
You all LOVE this part of your day. You and Dad left bright and early (10am) to Tom's Farms for blueberry pancakes, eggs and potatoes. YUMMY!

After breakfast, Mom, Lauren, Emma and Luke took you to the movies to see "Night at the Museum" That was fun. Nothing like popcorn, candy and soda for lunch. I'm not sure who enjoyed the movie more, you or Luke.

Isabel - M.V.- Emma - Lauren
Dinner at Twisted Gourmet before heading off to practice.

Opening presents. You just had to have this monster Nerf gun.
Seriously, I think it's as tall as you.

No birthday is complete without a silly birthday hat.

PRACTICE - PRACTICE - PRACTICE

After practice, we loaded up the troops AGAIN
and headed out to Bob's for some birthday dessert

Happy birthday to the sweetest, kindest and most loving brother!

Hot Fudge Cake! Thanks for sharing.

The trip would not be complete with some pix with BOB!

BIG DOG & BIG BOY

Michael V. another year has flown by. As you can see, the theme for this year's birthday was FOOD!
We hope you enjoyed your day as much as we did.
We love you so very much. Thank you for being such an amazing little man!
XOXO,
Mom, Dad, Brianna, Lauren, Emma & Luke

Rewind!

It's summertime at the Vasquez compound!
I hope to have more time to keep this darn blog updated.
I don't think I will ever figure out how to upload pictures in the right order. Serves me right for waiting sooo long to blog. Here is a small photo time line (backwards) to update everyone with what we've been up to for the last few months.

Luke Aidan turned 4 month!!!
Sleeps all night, has TWO teeth, and is almost rolling over.

Emma gets to move to the Big Kid's class at preschool next year.

Brianna was promoted to Jr. High!

M.V. is off to 5th grade.

Lauren finished 2nd grade and is just about ready to receive her 1st Communion!

Luke found his thumb! Alleluia, he's sleeping all night.

Missy

We have the most amazing neighbors on the planet.
We like to say that Bill and Linda are the kid's cool, young, hip and yes, white grandparents.
It's always an adventure when the kids are with them. And it just so happens that the kids learn something new with every adventure. I can't even begin to list all the things they have shared with the kids. Linda has sewed with the girls, cooked with them, had crafts for the holidays, beach night when Mommy was REALLY pregnant, baseball night with Michael V. and on and on...
Well, here is their newest adventure.
I'm not an animal person, shocker I know. Linda has fish, a cat, two dogs and now a HORSE! The kids are soooo excited. This week Ms. Linda and Mr. Bill (as the kids refer to them) took the girls to meet "Missy" for the first time. Michael V. had a baseball game, so he had to miss out, but the girls assured him that they would have all summer to make up for it.

Brianna in "Horse" Heaven

Of course they had to have their cowgirl hats on.

Emma, not afraid of anything.

Lauren doing something, I never thought she would.

A little more to the left, Lauren.

Riding off into the sunset

Ms. Linda taking the time to teach Brianna how to properly guide the horse

Yummy apples for Missy

Another amazing learning adventure.
Thank You, Ms. Linda and Mr. Bill!!!
We Love You
