Rewind!

It's summertime at the Vasquez compound!
I hope to have more time to keep this darn blog updated.
I don't think I will ever figure out how to upload pictures in the right order. Serves me right for waiting sooo long to blog. Here is a small photo time line (backwards) to update everyone with what we've been up to for the last few months.

Luke Aidan turned 4 month!!!
Sleeps all night, has TWO teeth, and is almost rolling over.

Emma gets to move to the Big Kid's class at preschool next year.

Brianna was promoted to Jr. High!

M.V. is off to 5th grade.

Lauren finished 2nd grade and is just about ready to receive her 1st Communion!

Luke found his thumb! Alleluia, he's sleeping all night.

Missy

We have the most amazing neighbors on the planet.
We like to say that Bill and Linda are the kid's cool, young, hip and yes, white grandparents.
It's always an adventure when the kids are with them. And it just so happens that the kids learn something new with every adventure. I can't even begin to list all the things they have shared with the kids. Linda has sewed with the girls, cooked with them, had crafts for the holidays, beach night when Mommy was REALLY pregnant, baseball night with Michael V. and on and on...
Well, here is their newest adventure.
I'm not an animal person, shocker I know. Linda has fish, a cat, two dogs and now a HORSE! The kids are soooo excited. This week Ms. Linda and Mr. Bill (as the kids refer to them) took the girls to meet "Missy" for the first time. Michael V. had a baseball game, so he had to miss out, but the girls assured him that they would have all summer to make up for it.

Of course they had to have their cowgirl hats on.

Emma, not afraid of anything.

Lauren doing something, I never thought she would.

A little more to the left, Lauren.

Another amazing learning adventure.
Thank You, Ms. Linda and Mr. Bill!!!

Shots Suck!

I've done this a multitude of times and it never seems to get easier.

Luke had his 2 month check-up on Wednesday and I cried. No, not because he's getting so big so fast, well maybe, but because my poor baby had to get FOUR shots. The nurse wanted to give him a fifth one, but I said NO! I think she wanted to put me over the edge. I always question my decision to vaccinate my kids. I mean I know I have to if I want them to attend school, but the anxiety that come with vaccinating your kids these days is so nerve wracking.
On a happier note. Luke is doing really well.
At 2 months, these are a few of his stats:

Luke Aidan - 2 months
13 lbs. - 24 inches tall

Still sleeps really well.
2 naps during the day.
Up to 6 hours straight at night!

Loves the car.
Loves attention from the big kids.
Loves sleeping right in the middle of mom's bed. (only during the day)

This sweet baby has been such a blessing to our family.
We love you, Lukie.

Happy Boy

Look who's all smiles these days!

Well, he's all smiles as long as someone is talking to him, carrying him or paying some sort of attention to him. Luke has realized the beauty of being part of a large family. If he yells someone will come running. Smart boy!

Bowling Fun

The kids had loads of fun over spring break.
Beach, Movies, Baseball, & Friends.
I think there favorite day was Bowling and Bob's Big Boy with Daddy.
Nice moves Emma!
Thank goodness for bumpers.

Strike!

Do princesses really bowl???

Emma telling Luke all about the rules of bowling

M.V. reacting the way he does at any sporting event he's involved in.
He plays at recess like it's the Olympics.

Mommy's Little Bowling Ball

We were so excited Daddy took a few days off during Spring Break to spend time with us.

Life with Luke

We have been adjusting to life with a newborn all over again. Well actually we've been watching him sleep. Luke is now 5 weeks old and the center of our universe. He is weighing in at almost 11 lbs. He still sleeps most of the day, but when he's up, he's really alert. In his short time on earth he has overcome jaundice, a clogged tear duct, scaly skin and baby acne. I'm so looking forward to him having normal baby skin.

The Boys

Bonding with Daddy.
We've come to the conclusion that Luke is a lighter version of Dad.

What's so funny?
I love the way Mike's hands dwarf him.

Super Grammie.
Grandma V has been such a huge help the past 5 weeks.
She takes the kids to school every morning and makes dinner for us every night.
She says that I need to take it easy for the full 6 weeks. OKAY Grammie, if you insist.

I wouldn't post a picture of him until he decided that baths were a good thing.
It broke my heart to see him scream bloody-murder everytime I put him in the tub.
He finally realized that baths are not the enemy.

Chillin in his swing

This was all he did up until last week

Hanging out like one of the big kids.
Other then being a little sleep deprived, all is going well. The kids continue with their busy schedules. They start Spring Break on Thursday and when they go back there will only be 7 weeks left of school! The end is near. Yahoo!
